Reasons why you may be looking for a parrot rescue
There is most likely 1 of 2 reasons why you are looking for a parrot rescue. One would be that you need to give away a parrot, the other would be you want to adopt a parrot.
Giving away or handing in an unwanted parrot.
There could be a number of reasons why you have ended up with a parrot that you need to give away.
It could be that the original owner has died and you can’t look after the parrot yourself.
Another possible reason could be that maybe you have found the parrot and want to make sure it’s safe.
Adopting a parrot to give it a loving home.
Another reason you may be looking for a parrot rescue in Arizona could be that you simply want a parrot, but want to adopt one rather than buying one from the pet store.
A lot of parrots need loving homes and adoption is a great way to make sure they get that.
Things to think about before adopting a parrot
Before you go rushing out and adopting a parrot, thinking it’s a great idea.
There are many things you need to consider.
Whilst the list is quite long, I have included just a few things to bear in mind so you don’t make any rash decisions as it’s not fair on the parrot if you decide that a parrot isn’t for you.
Commitment
Parrots live for a long time.
Sometimes longer than humans.
This means if you are thinking about adopting a parrot, then you need to be prepared to be in it for the long haul.
If you are thinking you only want a pet for a year or two, then you probably shouldn’t be getting a parrot.
Cost
Many people don’t think about the cost when getting a parrot.
You have to take into consideration the cost of adopting the parrot, but then there is the cost of other things the parrot will need, such as a cage, toys, food, and vet bills.
There are also ongoing costs, the food will run out and you’ll have to buy more.
You’ll need to buy more toys.
These are just some costs that you’ll need to consider.
The Noise
Parrots are not quiet pets.
They are LOUD.
They will squawk and scream and some will talk!
If you can’t put up with a few noises, then don’t get a parrot.
